Who can tell what happened to the Home Affairs office at 113 Van Riebeeck Ave in Edenvale? I recently went there to get a new ID, but the office was vacated…! Does anyone know if it was relocated?
please can i ask for your tel; the numbers on website does not work. and if i can have your office hours please at edenvale.

Monday to Friday: 8:00 to 15:30
Saturdays: 8:30 to 12:30
Last Wednesday of the month: 9:00 to 15:30
Closed on Sundays and Public Holidays

LikeDislikeHi Ruth, you can call the Department of Home Affairs in Edenvale on 011-4524014 or 011-4524016 for your queries. Although, you’d probably be more successful to call the DHA hotline on 0800-601190, as the Edenvale office hardly ever picks up the phone! 🙁

LikeDislikeEdenvale does definitely NOT answer their phones. If I have my husbands Slip for his Smart ID can I collect his on his behalf, when I collect mine?

LikeDislikeI don’t think that they will allow you to collect your husbands smart ID. I tried just that a month ago and was turned away by security, claiming that the applicant has to appear in person and sign with his/her finger print for receipt of the smart ID.

LikeDislikei have never seen such a lazy bunch of workers as they cant even lift there
butts to answer the phone if tried a few days but with no luck
my personal opinion they should fire the whole staff and hire new people who would love to do the work as i did receive a inside tip that the staff do hear the phone ringing but all the staff in the back refuse to answer because the one that answer have to help and work so the just look as each other and pretend not to hear the phone ringing what is happening to our country i love and would die for as my country cant even do a simple thing as answer the phone when i need them
i can say i feel a shame to call myself a south African what happen to doing your work with pride and to the best of your ability if this is south Africa best then we can just as well give up to be a world standard country and other countries can look down on us in shame and discuss

this community is not run by home affairs, nor is it affiliated with it or can forward any of your messages.
Small peace of personal advise. I know how painful it is to deal with the DHA, to an extend where it can even put your life on hold. Yet, yelling and shouting at them hardly ever bears fruits of success. Rather find yourself a friendly DHA employee whom you can engage with in a very friendly and respectful manor, this will more likely deliver the desired outcome for you.
Think about it.. 😉

Please assist with this urgent matter, my son needs to renew his passport, I stayed in the queue from 3:45 am, the application for renewal of passport was declined due to no registration of collection of his passport in 2006, which we collected .From that time we have renewed 2 more passports only now the problem appears . I have emailed Home Affairs with no reply . I am with this problem from October 2020 , his passport will expire soon.
